Murals

Jungle Room Project

A fantasy jungle for a young child who wanted to fall asleep surrounded by her animal friends.
This wrap-around mural, designed in the style of Henri Rousseau, features morning jungle on one side, and nighttime jungle on the other..

The Scripps Memorial Hospital Project

These trompe l'oeil windows were designed for the hospital's new maternity wing to bring peace and calm to three of the birthing rooms.
Cut out and painted on thin veneer wood, these life-sized windows create the illusion of 3-dimensionality.

The Big Window Project

This game room had windows on 2 of the 3 walls. I matched the size and dimensions of the existing window to paint a 3rd one for the empty wall,
including the hot air balloons that could regularly be seen from the home's backyard.

Trompe l’oeil

I love creating the illusion of outdoor space where none exists. These pieces, painted on thin veneer wood and attached to the wall,
give an added dimension of realism - created by the raised wood, enhancing the "fool-the-eye" quality of this fun style of art.

Owl in the Library

Client wanted a painted window with an owl sitting on the ledge, because the room was a library. Notice there is no window in the image with ladder. I created the window panel with the owl and installed it on the upper left side near the bookcase. The client was very happy with the symmetry, matching bevel and their wise old owl.
